My research as an art and design teacher focuses on how physical spaces affect people, especially in terms of inclusivity and well-being. One project I designed, involves students redesigning school spaces to make them more accessible for students with disabilities. This project aimed to teach students about different disabilities and the importance of creating spaces that meet everyone’s needs. In another project, I focused on redesigning school rooms to promote mental health and well-being. Students explored how things like natural light, greenery, and colour impact mental health and productivity. Both projects reflect my interest in how thoughtful design can create environments that are welcoming, supportive, and empowering for all students.
